mms2web.pl is a simple Perl program that extracts pictures from mail files and publishes them on, for example, a Web server. The mail or MMS sent to the mail address/mail folder is separated into different sections on the Web server based on a tagging system. This gives you the ability to create profile/user based sections in your Web space where users can send content from email or cell phones that can be automatically published.

mod_athena is an Apache-based application load balancer for large systems. It allows the HTTP server to act as a load balancer either internally to Apache's own mod_proxy (for reverse proxying), or externally to machines querying it. Arbitrary statistics are sent to the engine via a simple GET plus query-string interface, from which it will then make decisions based on chosen algorithms.

mod_backhand is a load balancing module for Apache. It provides per-request HTTP redirection within a heterogeneous Apache server cluster. Each request is processed and run through a set of "candidacy functions" to determine which server is best suited to respond. The request is then proxied to that server. Facilities are in place to allow you to write your own dynamically loadable decision making algorithms. Everything about the request and the current availability of resources can be used in the decision-making process.

Apache's mod_rewrite provides methods to map values to attributes using the directive RewriteMap. One not so well known feature of mod_rewrite is to extend this functionality with internal functions, which can be defined in a seperate Apache module. mod_icpquery is an Apache-2.0/2.2 compatible module that extends mod_rewrite by internal RewriteMap functions. It sends out a request as a UDP query to a list of Unicast or multicast addresses. This query conforms to RFC 2186, also known as ICP, and can be handled by various HTTP-caching servers such as squid. A cache-server handling ICP should reply to an ICP query with an ICP response indicating if it holds the desired object in its cache or not. This information can be further processed by mod_rewrite using its superb regex rules.
