X Printing Panel

The X Printing Panel (XPP) is a tool for choosing the desired printer out of a list of all printers available under CUPS and for setting printer options by an easy-to-use GUI. One simply calls the program instead of the usual utilities (lpr or lp) at the command line or out of applications.

    Release Notes: This release features a preview of images (PNG, JPG) in the file selection dialog, job control options like job scheduling, job name, page labels, update of widgets for CUPS standard option to match the current CUPS version (1.1.22), input field for extra options, support for numerical and string options of Foomatic 3.x, and support for fax number option of fax4CUPS.

      Release Notes: This release does not use function overloading for the password dialog anymore, and therefore it should compile on most commercial Unixes now. Furthermore it supports PPD-O-Matic PPD files from and the "natural-scaling" option for printing images.

        Release Notes: This release includes support for creating and removing printer instances, printing banner pages, raw printing, typing values of numerical options, and bug fixes.

          Release Notes: Integer and floating point options of CUPS-O-MATIC PPD files are supported now, so colour calibration and head alignment (and similar things) are possible for many printers. The main window is resizable, and several optical enhancements were added.

            Release Notes: This version supports password-protected printers, contains more info in the printer list, and will not allow printing with conflicting options.
