wxCam is a webcam application for Linux. It supports video recording (in an uncompressed AVI format or Xvid format), snapshot taking, and some special commands for Philips webcams, so you can also use the program for astronomy purposes. It supports both video4linux 1 and 2 drivers.

    Release Notes: OSS recording was replaced with ALSA. Bugs in the supported resolutions list were fixed. A buffer was added in Xvid recording. Bugs in querying capabilities and in Philips webcam v4l2 controls were fixed.

          Release Notes: Bugs in setting webcam resolution and showing fullscreen were fixed. The laplacian filter was added.
