Projects / white_dune

white_dune is a graphical VRML97/X3DV editor, simple NURBS/Superformula 3D modeller, animation tool, and VRML97/X3DV commandline compiler in development. VRML97 (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) is the ISO standard for displaying 3D data over the Web via browser plugins ("HTML for realtime 3D"). X3DV is the direct successor of VRML97. VRML97 and X3DV have support for animation, real-time interaction, and multimedia (images, movies, and sounds). white_dune can read, create, and display VRML97/X3DV files and let the user change the scenegraph/fields. It also has support for stereoscopic view via "quadbuffer"-capable stereo visuals, and support for 3D input devices like a joystick, spaceball, or magnetic tracker.

          •  29 Jun 2012 15:36

Release Notes: This release fixes wrong ElevationGrid.colorPerVertex FALSE rendering and updates the list of special covise DEF-Names in DEF-Dialog. Unfortunately, it is not possible to implement the scripted node NurbsCurveAnimation as a VRML97/X3D PROTO, so "create curve animation" functionality has been moved from the now-deprecated NurbsCurveAnimation node to the new CurveAnimation node. This release adds a backward-compatibility compilation flag to convert the deprecated NurbsCurveAnimation node automatically to the new CurveAnimation node.

            white_dune security warning
Cause of a buffer overflow and a format string error, all older versions than 0.29beta795 and 0.28pl13 should not be used.<BR/>

            This also includes <a href="">dune-0.13</a> (white_dune is a fork of dune-0.13).<BR/>

Unfortunatly, the security problems are located in a errormessage routines, so it is rather simple to build a exploit.
