WANem can be used to emulate wide area network conditions in a LAN environment. It can emulate network characteristics like Bandwidth, latency, loss, disconnection, duplication, reordering, asymmetric networks, etc. It is distributed in the form of a bootable CD.


Release Notes: The advanced mode was fixed, as it was not working in the previous release. The bug with wanemreset that appears when there are multiple interfaces was fixed. The problem with "wanem" command not working over a remote session was fixed.

Release Notes: This release uses Knoppix 5.3.1 as base, which uses kernel 2.6.24 Users will see better timing accuracy. It adds support for the latest hardware.


Release Notes: A new 'Save/Restore' feature was added. 'About' was changed and redundant code was removed from currval.inc.php. Wrong multiple NIC reporting in basic mode, an error in status.php, a problem where 'wanemreset' did not work with multiple NICs, and in the advanced GUI when disconnect options were not reset when 'Apply Setting' failed were fixed.


Release Notes: Support was added for emulation (nat) across multiple subnets with only 1 NIC on WANem. The GUI was enhanced. Bandwidth templates are available. Screen fitting was improved. Firefox browser support was added. Download size was reduced from 592 MB to 390MB (~200MB). WANalyzer was enhanced to work on very low bandwidths. You can exit to a Knoppix shell in a console.
