Projects / vvvP

vvvP (Virtual Volumes View Photo Edition) catalogs photographs on removable devices and hard disks at the same time. Images can also be arranged in a single virtual filesystem. Each folder of this filesystem can contain images from many disks. The program allows you to view image thumbnails and full images.

Release Notes: Color management was added. vvvP now supports color profiles embedded into images. The program can check cataloged files for changes, such as those caused by file corruption. It is possible to create a list of external programs, and it is possible to open the selected images (or a copy of the images) with one of those programs using a menu. For example, it is possible to open a copy of the selected image in an image editor.

Release Notes: Handling of RAW images was added. The image viewer now uses a high quality interpolator, so images are always sharp and have a natural look. When cataloging JPEG images, it is now possible to use the embedded preview (if available) to create the thumbnails. This option is faster, but thumbnail quality can be much lower with some cameras, so it is not enabled by default.

Release Notes: Handling of broken images was improved. The ability to remove a fixed location in the “Fixed locations” window was added. The image viewer window has been reworked, with larger improvements to the Linux and Mac OS X versions. Thumbnail presentation is now faster. The ability to delete files and folders in the fixed and removable view was added. A bug was fixed in the Linux version: it was not possible to assign some images correctly to a virtual folder. It was only possible to assign folders.

It adds an Edit/Select All menu to select all the images in a folder. In the Linux version, the image viewer is now much faster. A list of recently selected folders has been added to the Add to virtual folder window to speed up repetitive selections.
