Vector Signal Imaging Processing Library

The Vector Signal Image Processing Library is an application programming interface (API) defined by an open standard. This package is a reference implementation of this specification.

    Release Notes: Building with IBM SDK 3.1 is now supported (SDK 3.0 is no longer supported), as is building with only the GNU CBE toolchain. Reduced switching time when using multiple CBE tasks. Added support for zero-input/zero-output plugins. Added initial support for GPU/CUDA.

      Release Notes: Speedups for SIMD operations and FFTs, workarounds for flaky compiler optimizations, a MS Visual Studio solution, improved classic VSIPL support and multiprocessor support, and VSIPL++ API refinements and additions. The code is now 64-bit clean. Cell/B.E. support was added. Documentation and examples were updated. There were numerous bugfixes and code cleanups.

        Release Notes: This release implements return-block optimization (RBO). It improves and increases the usage of high-performance math libraries. It improves and increases the usage of SIMD instructions. The API has been extended to include optimized implementations of threshold, axpy, maxval, and minval. Performance of computations involving sparse matrices and tensors has been improved. There are assorted bugfixes.

          Release Notes: Improved use of the Mercury Scientific Algorithm Library (SAL) and the Parallel Accelleration System (PAS), support for using a VSIPL library where SAL and PAS are not supported, and support for disabling features outside the VSIPL++ standard.
