TONEGEN is a sine wave tone generator for OSS devices or standard out. You can set attenuation in dB down from "all ones", frequency of the tone, sample rate of the card, and length of time for the tone. Useful for setting levels and checking frequency response in a home studio.

    dirty hack
    tonegen produces a distorted sine wave. It runs twice as long as specified. I had to #define LINUX to compile it. But that's ok since the author introduces it as "dirty hack". YMMV
