Projects / Stendhal

Stendhal is a multiplayer online adventure game (MMORPG) developed using the Arianne game development system. It features a rich and expanding world in which you can explore towns, buildings, plains, caves, and dungeons. You will meet NPCs and acquire tasks and quests for valuable experience and cold hard cash. Your character will develop and grow, and with each new level up become stronger and better. With the money you acquire, you can buy new items and improve your armour and weapons. You can also roam the world in search of evil monsters (and kill them).

Christmas is coming! 23 Dec 2009 11:04

Semos is decorated for Christmas! There are holly wreaths, sparkling lights, big trees and baubles. If you're very lucky you might find Santa Claus out delivering gifts - he could be anywhere outside and keeps moving - listen out for a "Ho ho ho!". Merry Christmas from the Stendhal team.

Release Notes: This release improves access to information about the game world, most notably: quests, achievements, items, creatures, regions, and dungeons. Guides about the world and for new players are included, too. Further, this release encourages players to seek out into the huge world instead of spending all day training their fighting skills at home. Last but not least a new park was built in Fado city. It's a nice place to relax after a busy day.

Release Notes: Semos is decorated, and you might even meet Santa and Rudolph, who have quests for you. Large dragons now attack players who try to hide right in front of them. As usual, this release contains a number of improvements to maps, sprites, and sounds.

Release Notes: Stendhal 1.11 was released with a big party. Celebrate in the game with costumes, food, quests, and puzzles at this year's Mine Town Revival Weeks. A paperchase quest will lead players all over the world to discover interesting places, but be careful, since kobolds and slime lurk in the mines. Other changes include icons next to NPCs, who trade items or heal, to make them easier to discover.

Release Notes: Trade offers from players are now announced on the Web site. NPCs now reverse their pace instead of waiting for obstacles to move away. In addition to many improvements to graphics, a number of internal changes will make it easier to develop new content in the future.

            Server problem as of 2005/10/23
There is a bug, already fixed on CVS, on version 0.39. If you die you go to afterlife, but you can't return from there because there isn't a portal where it should be.

Either don't die or wait for server reset if you die to return to life.

I am very sorry for this problem.
