The SMSj library allows you to send SMSes (GSM) from the Java platform. It gives you full control over the SMS including the UDH field so you can create and send EMS messages, Nokia ringtones, and images. It provides a pluggable transport layer that allows it be used with a range of different SMS servers.

    Release Notes: New SMS message types were added (SmsPortAddressedTextMessage, SmsMmsNotificationMessage, SmsMsgWaitingMessage). pswincom was added as an SMS transport. SmsSender was updated with more message types. GsmTransport was updated. slf4j is used for logging.

        Release Notes: This release is only a subset of what is in CVS. It only contains the core SMS functionality. Features that you can fetch from CVS (works in progress) includes Nokia Smart Messaging, WAP push, MMS sending, a WBXML writer, EMI/UCP SMSC transport, and more.
