Projects / Resynthesizer

Resynthesizer is a Gimp plug-in that when given a sample of a texture can synthesize more of that texture. It can also be used to create tiling patterns, to remove an object from am image by inventing a plausable background, or to apply a theme to an image (for example to make an image look as though it were painted).

Release Notes: A parameter called "search thoroughness" was added, which allows one to trade off between speed and quality.

    •  25 Apr 2005 01:42

Release Notes: A new robust goodness-of-fit metric produces higher quality results.

      •  13 Dec 2004 22:37

Release Notes: This version uses a completely new algorithm that is much faster and produces far fewer artifacts. Synthesis tasks that would have taken an hour or two in previous versions now take seconds, and use of Resynthesizer with large images is now feasible.

        •  17 Nov 2004 02:57

Release Notes: The code was optimized.

          •  18 May 2004 10:07

Release Notes: The algorithm was tweaked to give better results, and an option was added to perform additional refinement passes over the output. There were also some small bugfixes and interface improvements.
