Projects / pxeconfig

pexconfig allows you to use a PXE-enabled network card as the first boot device for a system. This software suite also includes PXE-menu tools, which are used to control the booting of networked computers directly from the computer's console at the BIOS level before any operating system has been loaded. The menus provided by these tools can be used for diagnostic purposes, for firmware upgrades, or for selecting an operating system installation method.

Release Notes: This release adds a new option: -H/ --skip-hostname-lookup-error for the command line, and 'skip_hostname_lookup_error' for pxeconfig.conf. When set, it skips hostname lookup errors. This option is mostly useful for a cluster when you just want to install all the nodes but not all racks/blade-chassis are equally filled with nodes.

Release Notes: This release added support for hosts that can only use MAC address for pxelinux configuration. This is used in environments where dynamic IPs are used. PXEmenu has been updated to SYSLINUX 4.02.
