Release Notes: This release implements a check that detects failures when attempting to use TLS authentication. In previous versions, this could silently fail, and the password would be sent in clear text when the user thought it was being sent in encrypted form. This shouldn't be a problem if the user is sure of the server capabilities and has configured the program properly, but an upgrade is highly encouraged. In addition, due to a lack of demand, internationalization support has been removed.

Release Notes: There were very small changes to improve compatibility with sendmail's command line arguments. The program now prints errors and warnings to a log file so users can read them when stderr is not available. It also creates a sample configuration file the first time you run it in order to ease configuration.

Release Notes: This fixes a minor problem with smtp.gmail.com that started to appear some days ago. putmail.py would exit, informing of an illegal EOF while closing the connection with the server, but the email was sent out anyway, confusing MUAs and users.
