Perlfect Search

Perlfect Search is a Web site indexing and searching CGI application. Features include full-text and meta tag indexing, keyword weighting, relevance-ranked searches, dir/file excludes, stopwords, boolean searches, and an automatic installation and configuration utility that works with most Web server setups. It works on both Linux/Unix and Windows.

    Release Notes: A fix for a bug that prevented PDF and MS-Word indexing from working in Windows.

      Release Notes: Support for external filters like antiword has been added, indexing via the Web form has been improved, the date of the last index update can now be shown on the result page, and some small bugs have been fixed.

        Release Notes: This release adds highlighting of search terms in matching page, include/exclude files at search time, and indexing speed improvements of 20-50%. Several bugs have been fixed, and other features have been added.

          Release Notes: You can now index dynamically-generated pages. PDF pages can be indexed using an external pdf2ascii tool. It's possible to start the via a Web form now. The result page can show the context of the found term. Ranking can be in percentages. Queries can be logged. Several other bugfixes and improvements have been made.

            Release Notes: If the user is looking for more than one term, AND is now the default. Pages can be indexed via HTTP (necessary for dynamic pages). A great speedup has been made for people with many (>1000) documents. Many other new options and bugfixes have been added.
