PECoMaTo stands for Picture-Embedded COntents MAnipulation TOol. It is basically designed to display any kind of information embedded in picture files, as well as checking, filtering, extracting, removing, adding, and fixing such information. In other words, it's a metadata processor. It supports the following file formats: JPEG/JFIF, Adobe PSD and FFO, and raw IPTC. It knows about the following metadata formats: JFIF, IPTC, Exif, Adobe, and Fotostation. More file and metadata formats might be supported later (TIFF, etc.).

    Release Notes: This release fixes a buffer overrun when checking for known file formats in files.

      Release Notes: This release adds the ability to append IPTC records (filter edits), allows more than 100 include/exclude filters, and fixes loading of exclude filters from a file. It is now licensed under the GPL v3 or above. This release adds .7z archives and renames RPM packages.

        Release Notes: A new op-mode has been introduced to satisfy some users' request, and there are few more minor bugfixes. FC3 packages have been dropped and replaced with FC5 packages.

          Release Notes: Mostly bugfixes were made for writing to files and for some Win32-specific file lock issues. More checks and robustness enforcements were added. Two memory leaks were solved, and several packaging fixes were done. A port to Sun Solaris 10 Intel was made. An online bug tracker (bugzilla) and CVS tools (web, history) have been added, although access to them is still limited and is subject to motivated requests.

            Release Notes: Darwin, Mac OS X, and BeOS 5 ports were added and a bug that caused a failure to write extracted iptc when processing files in current directory was fixed. Various minor changes and packaging fixes were made.
