myGtkMenu displays a menu whose contents are determined by a description file that the user can control completely. The order of the menu items, which icons are used, and the commands to be executed are specified in the text file.

    Please note that GNOME version 2.28 disables icons in menus (and buttons). One way to re enable the icons is to use gconftool-2:

    gconftool-2 --type boolean --set /desktop/gnome/interface/buttons_have_icons true
    gconftool-2 --type boolean --set /desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_icons true
