The Modular Manual Browser

The Modular Manual Browser is a set of PHP scripts designed as a man/apropos work-alike. It indexes manual pages across different operating systems and displays them in a searchable database in a Web browser. It is easy to set up and includes highlighting, linking support in man pages, browsing and searching of pages, categories, and manuals. It can also optionally set up a database containing descriptions of pages from the page titles.

Release Notes: This release is suited to this only serving local man pages. The default config will interface only with the local database. modman can be simply dropped directly into your Web space. You can still add more manuals as usual, but now you can decide whether to use already existing whatis/windex files or the faster mandb.php-generated db4 (or similar) database. mandb.php can now also pick up multi-line descriptions. Apropos results can be filtered by Section or Manual, but not Page. Display JavaScript was added to reflect this mutually exclusive approach.

Code cleanyp. searchPages no longer displays "Nothing Found" if nothing was found in $mandir but something was found in the local database.
