mediaIndexer is a Web application that creates an interface for browsing a collection of media files. Media file types are configurable. It supports movies, audio, source code, text files, images, and most office document types. File and directory properties are stored using a SQLite database. Other features include user comments, hit tracking, file mirror URLs, recursive searching, streaming playlists, thumbnail generation, and more.

    Release Notes: This version adds a Wiki-style text parser, automatic video thumbnails for many video formats, file pagination links, a new PostScript file handler, updated documentation, HTML 4.01 compliant output, and several bugfixes.

      Release Notes: The backend classes have been restructured to add scalability for future feature additions. This release adds a new Controller class, a new Configuration format, and a Flash/Shockwave media handler, and now integrates fully with the GetID3 media file parser.

        Release Notes: The backend class structure was rewritten, providing a more flexible media type handling system. A search interface was added. Several reported bugs were fixed, and a few minor features were added.

          Release Notes: Pattern matching for media type detection is now case insensitive. The metadata table has been split into separate file/dir tables. An MP3 playlist feature has been added to the audio handler. Files are now indexed by their md5 checksum instead of their file path. More error checking has been added, and minor bugs have been fixed. The documentation has been added, located in the docs/ directory.

            Release Notes: Files can now be mirrored with multiple URLs. Media type associations are now done with file patterns instead of file extensions for more flexibility. A Zlib handler for compressed text files has been added.
