    Release Notes: The archiver applet is now functional. A new feature was added in the browser applet to optionally open a Web page in the Firefox browser. LinuxSpeaks now uses a new text editor, lsed.pl. New features were added to the pager applet and command shell applet. The audio mixer applet was rewritten to allow adjusting of all controls. The live CD now includes an applet to install to a hard drive and a speakup patched kernel. A boot menu lets you choose the speakup system or LinuxSpeaks.

      Release Notes: New features were added for the Web browser: the user may select bookmarks; the user may select the home page; email links open the speakmail program. ALSA errors were fixed on some systems for the editor. A problem in which the main menu would ask the user to setup programs and or read the documentation on startup was fixed. This is no longer the default. A CD player was added. The default is still to use dcd, but it has trouble on some systems.

        Release Notes: A voice recorder applet was added along with a time configure applet for setting the time and date either by NTP or manually. A pager applet was integrated into the system and made the default for reading files, etc. Broken prompts were fixed. A Tcl 8.4 install bug was fixed in te install script. Some of the code was cleaned up.

          Release Notes: Speech was changed to be non-blocking in several places. This speeds up menus and editors, making the system much more usable. A pager applet was integrated into the system, and it was made the default for reading files and similar activities. A voice recorder applet was added. A time configure applet was added to the set time and date either by ntp or manually. Even more bugs were fixed in several applets and the install script.

            Release Notes: An initial translation of prompts was undertaken from English to Italian, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, and German. Bugs in the Concentration game and Voice Config were fixed.

              Release Notes: Support for the eSpeak text-to-speech synthesizer was added. An initial translation of prompts from English to Spanish was made. A LinuxSpeaks Live CD ISO image is available for download. It is now easier to change text-to-speech engines as well as voices, volume, speed, and pitch from within the LinuxSpeaks interface.
