libgphoto2 is a user space library which provides applications with camera independent access to almost 300 digital cameras. It contains more than 30 drivers to complement the drivers in your operating system kernel.

    Release Notes: This release contains lots of new features in the PTP 2 camera driver, related to both Nikon and Canon capture, bugfixes and speedups in the PTP driver, and general bugfixes. Updated translations from the were also integrated.

      Release Notes: The initial libgphoto2 startup was sped up (by seconds). Translations were updated. The PTP2 driver received improvements in MTP handling, Canon Capture handling, EOS Capture handling, and download cancellation. The Canon driver received various bugfixes increasing its stability.

        Release Notes: In this release, the built-in cache uses all available RAM on systems without memory size detection. It also includes some improvements to canon, smal, and ptp2 drivers.

          Release Notes: A nasty stack overflow/segfault bug was fixed. The Sun support was fixed and improved. All drivers now report the vendor and model in a new (formatted) fashion. The Canon driver now supports capturing from consumer class cameras and was tested on the Canon PowerShot S45. The Canon PowerShot G2 now works while running from the AC adapter. Multiple new models were added (A60, A70). A next generation PTP driver was added, which is now the default. An Agfa CL20 driver was included, and a spca50x camera library was added for spca50x bridges.

            Release Notes: The command line frontend (gphoto2) has been split from the service library. Almost 300 cameras are now supported, and many bugs were fixed.
