The Linux Backup Utility (LBU) is a simple, menu-driven script for performing backups and restoration of data from tars, compressed tars, and tapes. It supports basic hardware compression as well as variable hardware block sizes. It lets you configure tar block sizes, exclusion lists, inclusion lists and it supports wildcards.

    Release Notes: Support for pre- and post-backup mt operations (and multiples of each), a fix for a scheduling bug, and explicate support for a named device being passed to mt.

      Release Notes: Added support for new tar block sizes, basic hardware compression, and variable hardware block sizes, fixed a bug that kept popping up when attempting to do full backups as well as various minor enhancements and bug fixes.
