Local Area Security Knoppix

Local Area Security Knoppix is a 'Live CD' distribution based on Knoppix but with a strong emphasis on security tools and small footprint. There are two different versions of L.A.S. Linux to fit two specific size requirements. There is a 185 MB version and a 210 MB version to fit on MiniCDs of the same size.

    Release Notes: All packages have been upgraded to current in the 210MB version. The theme and background have changed to the new standard. There are usability fixes amd fixes for broken menu links.

      Release Notes: The kernel has been recompiled to insure NTFS r/w and monitor mode for wireless. All packages have been upgraded. There are cosmetic and usability improvements.

        Release Notes: All packages have been upgraded to current. There is a new theme, background, and many other menu and cosmetic improvements. Many packages have been added to increase the size to 210 MB.

          Release Notes: Many additions and bugfixes have been made since the beta version. Over 60 new packages have been added, as well as existing packages being updated to the current releases. A few of the tools added are etherape, Mozilla Firebird, argus-server, argus-client, and more. Another addition of importance is Fabian Franz's 'toram' linuxrc routine, which allows one to use the boot option to copy the CD image into RAM.

            Release Notes: This release adds gkismet, ettercap-gtk, airsnort, paketto, ClamAV, and over 40+ tools including many tools for configuring Cisco routers. It changes the default style and adds menu entries for tools with GUIs.
