kchmviewer is a CHM (Winhelp) files viewer written in Qt/ KDE. It can be build as a stand-alone Qt-based application or a KDE application. The main point is compatibility with non-English CHM files, including most international character sets. It has the features set of standard viewer: search (including non-English CHMs), bookmarking, font size changing, index/content browsing, codepage support, and more.

    Release Notes: Since this version, only QWebKit is supported; support for QTextBrowser (which was never a full HTML browser) and KHTMLPart (which is outdated) was removed. This should result in fewer bugs reports related to old and buggy browsers. Java/Javascript, plugins, and HTML5 options can be enabled/disabled for Webkit. Support has been added for opening a specific page at startup with the --url switch. A few crashes have been fixed.

      Release Notes: Mac support was added. A few minor bugs were fixed. Ukrainian and Brazilian translations were added.

        Release Notes: Minor bugs were fixed, mostly for Windows.

          Release Notes: Qt 4.5 is now required. The navigation tab is now a dock window, which can be moved or left floating. The index parser was fixed. Default toolbars now use large icons and text labels, and are configurable through the settings. A new version check was added. It checks once a week and can be disabled in the settings. An OpenSuSE 11.2 RPM was provided.

            Release Notes: Mostly minor feature enhancements were made. Font size changing on KHTMLPart was fixed. Opening files with non-English characters on Windows was fixed. The "Open in new tab" function for QTextBrowser was fixed. The middle mouse button in QTextBrowser and WebKit now opens the link in a new tab in the background, and the middle mouse button now closes opened tabs in the tab bar.
