JTAG Tools

JTAG Tools is a software package which enables working with JTAG-aware (IEEE 1149.1) hardware devices and boards through a JTAG adapter. This package has an open and modular architecture with the ability to write miscellaneous extensions like board testers, flash memory programmers, and so on.

    Release Notes: Support for Altera EP1C20F400 and EPM7128AETC100 chips was added. A new 'initbus' command was added along with initial support for JEDEC detection for flash chips and many more. Many minor bugs were also fixed.

      Release Notes: Support has been added for many new chips, including Broadcom BCM1250, Hitachi SH7750R, and Samsung S3C4510B. New commands have been added and old ones improved. Support has been added for parts (chips) without IDCODE instruction. Support for multiple buses has been added. There are some bugfixes.

        Release Notes: The bus drivers were optimized to increase bus access speed for 'readmem' and 'flashmem' commands. JTAG declarations were added for Broadcom BCM5421S and DEC SA1100. A bus driver for Hitachi SH7727 was added. Some bugs were fixed.

          Release Notes: This version adds a driver for Keith & Koep JTAG Cable, is now ported to NetBSD/i386, and adds JTAG declarations for Xilinx XCR3256XL-FT256.

            Release Notes: This release adds support for the Intel PXA255 A0, support for the Linux ppdev parallel port driver (non-root users can use JTAG Tools now), and a new bsdl2jtag conversion tool.
