ircII is the other original popular UNIX IRC client. It has a full screen, termcap-based interface to connect to and communicate via Internet Relay Chat servers.

    Release Notes: Numerous fixes and improvements, including IPv6 support, documentation updates, autoconf/automake support for SOCKS5, and several new functions and scripts.

      Release Notes: Fixes channel_name_width==0, missing ssize_t, freebsd curses, nickname at starttime for linux, /window kill_others, NeXT support and adds socks5 support. Configure --datadir, --srcdir (objdir) support, find zcat/gzip/etc and use these as we can plus a few minor other things.

        Release Notes: Some further problems were found with the CAST-128 encryption that made it extremely difficult to interoperate with other clients. This new version is incompatible with the earlier versions again, due to one of the bugs being in key generation. There are also some minor enhancements to the ICB support.
