File System Saint

File System Saint (fss) is a poor man's Tripwire-like utility that creates a snapshot of a live file system and uses that information later to detect any changes. It can be configured to run automatically and report any changes via email. It stores information about file size, ctime, mtime, owner, and permissions. Since all of these parameters can be tampered with, File System Saint stores a cryptographic hash of a file, guaranteeing that content of the file cannot be changed unnoticed.
