Folx is a free download manager and torrent client for Mac systems. It allows resuming broken downloads, splitting the downloads into threads, increasing the download speed in results, prioritizing download tasks, and more. Folx PRO allows you to schedule the download tasks, automatically control the download speed, download files attached to RSS feeds, and add downloaded videos and music directly to iTunes, and has built-in torrent searching through the vast list of trackers.

    Release Notes: This release added support for Apple’s Retina displays, a totally new mini controller allowing managing tasks when Folx is in compact view, a File Manager for easier browsing through completed downloads, and Quick Look integration. You can now either add tasks in a few clicks via the “Quick Add” option, or set up advanced options in the “New Task” window. Integration with all Mac OS X browsers was added. Mechanisms for catching the download links were improved.

      Release Notes: This release adds RSS subscription directly from the Folx interface with the ability to download files, attached to RSS feeds, either manually (Free) or automatically (PRO). It adds automatic transfer of downloaded videos/music into iTunes playlists, if iTunes integration is assigned to the tag (PRO). It adds automatic tags assignment to download tasks. Smart groups can be created to make browsing through tasks much easier. There are improvements for compatibility with Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion).

        Release Notes: Torrent search from within the application was greatly refined. Integration with the Firefox 3.6 context menu was implemented. A "my uploads" tag is automatically assigned to a torrent file you create. Spotlight comments can now be added to a folder with more than one file.

          Release Notes: The ability to download via BitTorrent was added. The ability to search for torrents via the Folx search engine was added. The interface was greatly improved.

            Release Notes: This release added browser integration, adding and editing of multiple download tasks, and cookie support, and improved AppleScript and the interface.

            It was a good decision to combine download manager and torrent client in one app. Folx is powerful, easy –to- use and free. Sounds great as for me.

            As for me Folx is rather lovely application. I like it's new folders organization and it's great that I can search my files via Spotlight! But the best thing is that I can have it free.
