EtherEye Network Host Checker

EtherEye is a Web-based network host checking system written in PHP and standards compliant HTML. You simply provide it with a list of IP addresses or domain names via the configuration interface, and it will ping them on request and output the results as HTML. You can also access the results via RSS feed for easier monitoring or to integrate into a Web site.

Release Notes: This release incorporates fixes for users receiving outdated results due to caching in the browser or server and for some configuration values not being remembered when reconfiguring using the configuration interface.

Release Notes: This release fixes a bug causing only multiples of five machines to be displayed on the results page.

      •  06 Oct 2005 10:23

Release Notes: This release fixed a bug that gave some users errors about an 'Undefined variable'. Users of 1.5 do not need to upgrade unless they experienced these errors.

        •  05 Oct 2005 18:06

Release Notes: This release adds support for caching the ping results so that it doesn't have to ping your hosts every time it is accessed. There is also a new configuration option to set the ping timeout, to reduce the amount of time ping spends waiting for a response from unreachable hosts. In addition, displayed text has been abstracted from the source files to make translating the interface into other languages very easy. There have also been a lot of changes made behind the scenes to clean up the code and make things more efficient.

          •  17 Mar 2005 05:31

Release Notes: This release added a workaround for what seems to be a bug in the Windows version of PHP 4.3.9 (and maybe other versions) that caused 'undefined offset' errors when accessing the results and using the config script. Users running 1.0 need not upgrade unless they experience these errors.
