DirList is a user directory system that runs as a CGI to serve up user lists, search for various user attributes, view their web sites, define personalised user attributes, and keep it all synchronized automatically with the underlying operating system's user database on periodic intervals with cron.

Release Notes: This release has been strengthened as a result of a security audit. While no remotely exploitable holes have been discovered, a scenario involving a high number of searches can potentially use too many CPU and memory resources (a hard maximum is now defined). This release adds the ability to import an index file from a machine having a different CPU endian and support for 64-bit CPUs.

Release Notes: This version fixes a server-side issue that makes the command-line behavior deviate from the documentation when --update is used with a home directory specified on the command line. This is pretty much the only change after about two years, so this software should be considered more or less stable.

Release Notes: The distribution now has a RPM that automatically sets up DirList Server. Default e-mail domain and default URL fields have been added to the index file header structure and to the query interface with backwards compatibility with older clients in mind. The ACL interface has been eradicated in favor of the LoginUser function call for browser-based queries, which is done within ListDirectory. More index creation options were added.
