Release Notes: A new aggregate function LISTAGG (from Oracle), multiaction triggers, writable BEFORE triggers, default arguments for functions, and non-constant LIKE patterns. DB2 Text Search (based on Lucene) has been updated. It is now faster and more configurable.
Release Notes: LOB strings of any length continue to be supported in comparisons using the LIKE, NULL, and the POSSTR function. LOB strings less than 32k are supported as operands in other predicates and the simple CASE expression. Trap resilience functionality, a feature that keeps the instance active if certain traps occur, has now been extended to the load utility.
Release Notes: The new datatypes NCHAR, NVARCGAR, NCLOB, and UDF now support default and named arguments. Transportable tablespaces were implemented. There is no longer any need to tune Linux IPC kernel settings. Code obfuscation is supported for the body of a routine, trigger, or view. A new compatibility feature was added for applications compatible with Sybase ASE.
Release Notes: New features include Oracle PL/SQL procedural language support, shrinkable tablespaces, read support on HADR standby, index compression, online schema change, SQL*Plus compatibility, online table move, read committed isolation level (statement snapshot), scan sharing, the TRUNCATE statement, a statement concentrator (cursor sharing), added modules (Oracle packages), XML support in MDC and DPF tables, local partitioned indexes, weak typing, and CREATE OR REPLACE. LOB and XML can now be inlined and compressed.
Release Notes: This version adds support for SLES 11, the ability to block nonlogged activity on tables on a system wide basis, unlimited password length, AES password encryption, SSL encrypted connections, and ITMA fixes for Linux. The pureXML feature is now free to use. The new DB2 Text Search (fulltext) component supports searching SQL, XML, and rich text with national languages support. The new DB2TOP monitoring tool is included on Unix systems.
