Projects / BitTorrent++

BitTorrent++ is a client for the BitTorrent peer-to-peer file sharing solution. Based on the original BitTorrent software, it is also written in Python using wxPython for the GUI, thus allowing it to run on Win32 as well as Linux-like platforms. It improves (or will improve) many parts of the original software, like downloading of multiple files at once, configuration of upload and download speeds, as well as other behaviours. The GUI and usability is also to be improved greatly.

        Release Notes: Alpha 0.3.0 of BitTorrent++ is an important milestone for me. It features a table instead of the tree for displaying the files and transfers. It also implements file downloading without the BitTorrent 'download' function, which was written for having only one download at a time. Thus the versions up to here were more or less a hack, and the latest version makes it better. This also is the foundation for some new features to come. File priority has been implemented and the preference dialog changed, allowing easier addition of new options.

          Release Notes: This version features Linux compatibility, a preference dialog, a class for reading and wiriting to the config file, and collapse and expand buttons for the preference window. Preferences in the config file are now respected when starting downloads. Some bugs were fixed, cosmetic changes were made, the tree now supports right-click menus, and the log window now supports color.
