Release Notes: This release includes a dramatic optimization of the simplex method used to solve the linear programming problem associated with picture sizing and deferred drawing, by removing superfluous constraints. It also attempts to resize pictures that cannot be fit within the given size constraints. A font initialization bug was fixed and the Feynman module was updated.

Release Notes: This release adds a C-like atexit function, which is now used to implicitly add a shipout command on exit if no previous shipout commands have been executed. The documentation and examples have been updated to remove any unnecessary shipout() calls. The scaling of errorbars and the XEquals and YEquals axes (e.g. for logarithmic graphs) was also fixed. The selection highlighting in the GUI xasy was improved.

Release Notes: This release adds a margin facility, which can be used to improve the look of arrows, allowing one to shrink the visible portion of a path to avoid overlap with other drawn objects. Also, the default arrowhead and dimension bar sizes now scale with the line width, just like the default dot size (this required changing the variable arrowsize to be a function of the current pen). This release also includes error bar routines in graph.asy and fixes two bugs. The documentation and examples were updated to illustrate the new features.

Release Notes: This release introduces an elegant method for including and positioning EPS pictures: the include function now returns a string containing an includegraphics command that can be used just like a TeX label. The pstoedit backend patch supports images and fixes text alignment and clipping problems. A new basealign pen type allows labels to be aligned to the TeX baseline, rather than to the full label bounding box. The clipping code was cleaned up; unfilling pictures now always works properly. Compilation issues under Solaris were solved and the documentation was improved.

Release Notes: This release supports fonts, subpaths, unfilling, and even/odd filling and clipping rules. Picture clipping was reimplemented to fix transformation and layering of clipped pictures. The pattern generation routines were simplified. The "squarecap" and "roundjoin" variables replace linecap(Square), etc. A colored background option was added to bbox. This release includes an Asymptote backend for the pstoedit PostScript editor, with native clipping and PostScript subpath support. A segmentation fault and floating point exception in linetype was fixed, along with a bug in the LaTeX rotation angle format.

Release Notes: A bug was fixed in the path solving routines. Interactive mode now closely emulates a true line-at-a-time mode in that standard input associated with previous commands is read from a file buffer. The interactive Import command was renamed 'input', as it now includes code directly into Asymptote. A facility was added for checking to see if a file exists. The definitions of endl and tab in plain.asy were fixed, along with the PostScript include command. A grid generation routine was added to math.asy. The binary installation instructions were simplified.

Release Notes: This release fixes a bug in dirtime and improves arc to coincide exactly with circle. The color gray is now equivalent to black+white. C-like strings were implemented with full ANSI C character string escape sequences, which were removed from TeX strings. A new "explicit" keyword prevents implicit casting of function arguments. Problems with antialiasing, PDF generation, label bounding boxes, gv watch files, and xasy alignment were resolved. The configuration now checks for broken xdr headers. A local copy of GNU getopt is used where lacking. Man pages are now installed by default.

Release Notes: This release fixes bugs in the 2D axis routines. Two new axis types, XEquals and YEquals, have been added. The perpendicular symbol routine in math.asy has been improved. The default linetype, linewidth, fontsize, color, linecap, linejoin, and overwrite mode can now be changed with the routine defaultpen(pen). A configure option has been added to detect xdr header files.
