Album Shaper

Album Shaper is a graphical application used to create, maintain, and share photo albums using open formats like HTML and JPG. Two-layer albums can be created in a drag-n-drop interface which allows quick and easy arrangement and categorization of photos. A few simple image manipulations such as rotation and flipping are provided to help get photos presentable as quickly as possible. Photos, subalbums, and albums themselves can be labeled as needed and modified at a later time by saving and loading from a simple XML format.

Release Notes: While mainly a bugfix release, this version also adds complete French and German translations, a new Radiant theme, and a new Mosaic image manipulation. The compilation and installation process for Linux/FreeBSD users has seen significant improvements.

Release Notes: Importing and rotating (now lossless) photos is several times faster. Many bugs have been fixed after an entire month of solid testing by over 18 dedicated beta testers. Internationalization support has improved leaps and bounds, in part thanks to the new help system that comes with this release. Photo editing has been rewritten. You can quickly crop to standard dimensions, correct for tilt, enhance color and contrast, remove red-eye, adjust levels, brightness, and contrast, blur or sharpen an image, or apply several image manipulations.

Release Notes: This release supports an initial core set of functionality, has a stable backbone, a clean user interface, and good documentation, in addition to supporting all major platforms (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and FreeBSD). It fixes a number of small glitches found in earlier releases, in addition to adding keybindings for manipulating and annotating photos.

Release Notes: This release has a completely overhauled user interface. Not only does it aim to look better, UI changes also focus on making the program more intuitive to interact with. Far fewer mouse movements and clicks are necessary to accomplish the same tasks as before. Extensive testing and debugging has rooted out many bugs that occurred in previous versions when performing multiple complicated organizational tasks. User settings have been added. Album Shaper now remembers window placement and size and last used directories for loading/saving and adding new photos.

Release Notes: Mac OS X support was added and a Windows installer was included. Theme-based export is now possible using XSLT. This release also included a handbook, internationalization, multiple drag-and-drop within sub-albums, a status widget in the layout, and an album statistics window. The process of loading albums is now significantly faster, and all known bugs were fixed.

I got this project, Album shaper in the source forge site, but I don't know to build it well.
I built it with complex way so time for compile is too long.
I thank you to give compile kits or to know how to compile it easy.

Not such a great product for large #'s of files (winxp)
I tried to use this product for WinXP client publishing to Linux/Apache webserver. I have two problems:

            1) Very slow - it takes a long time to load images into the system.

            2) Copies rather than references. Instead of referncing my source images, it makes copies of them. This isn't so great if you're trying to manage gigs of photos.

On the plus side the UI is pretty good and has lots of nice features. But it looks like it's for pretty small collections of files - and for people with disk space to burn, or who are willing to move their source files into a foreign directory structure and delete their original files (gulp).
