Release Notes: This release introduces new feaures and bugfixes. A new [indent] BBcode tag was added, and it is now much easier to clean up spam. Announcements can now be targeted (anonymous or logged in users). The CKEditor plugin was reworked. Introduction of "theme.ini" files to override the traditional theme inheritance chain. The File Manager ACP can now unzip files. 'References:' headers have been added to mailing list messages.

WHDD is a HDD diagnostic and data recovery tool for Linux. It can test a hard drive with reads and writes, while providing intuitive visualization of the process. It also has a function for copying a device, with algorithms optimized for least harm to already-defective source devices. It works with your hard drives at a low level by sending ATA commands, which means that the system doesn't freeze while accessing damaged devices (the device is soft-reset on timeout).

Introduces journaling of copying and automatic resuming of interrupted copying. Supports overriding of procedure parameters via the ~/.whddrc config file. Several bugfixes.

SIP is a tool to generate C++ interface code for Python. It is similar to SWIG, but uses a different interface format. It was used to build PyQt and PyKDE, and has support for the Qt signal/slot mechanism.

Highlight is a universal converter from source code to HTML, XHTML, RTF, TeX, LaTeX, SVG, BBCode, and terminal escape sequences. (X)HTML and SVG output are formatted by Cascading Style Sheets. It supports more than 170 programming languages, and includes 80 highlighting color themes. The configuration files are Lua scripts with plug-in support. The converter includes some features to provide a consistent layout of the output code.


Release Notes: Lua versions 5.1 and 5.2 are supported. Some minor bugs were fixed. Support for Yang was added.

Diskless Remote Boot in Linux (DRBL) provides a diskless or systemless environment for client machines. It works on Debian, Mandriva, Red Hat, Fedora, and SuSE. Unlike LTSP, it uses distributed hardware resources and makes it possible for clients to fully access local hardware. It also includes Clonezilla, a partitioning and disk cloning utility similar to Symantec Ghost.

Release Notes: The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2013/Aug/20). The Linux kernel was updated to 3.10.7-1. Clonezilla was updated to 3.5.18-drbl1. This release skips the xfce4 panel question upon initial login. A bug has been fixed: the mode of Desktop/Display.desktop in one's home directory should be executable.

tvpvrd is a PVR daemon for Linux that offers the ability to schedule and manage TV recordings using one or multiple installed analogue TV capture cards, e.g. Hauppauge. The daemon is interfaced either through its full command language via a provided command line shell or through a basic (built-in) Web interface provided by the built in micro Web server. The goal is to provide an advanced recording and transcoding (using ffmpeg) server without the need to configure databases or a complex GUI. The server is completely self-contained and uses an XML DB in plain text format to store future recordings.

BakAndImgCD is a small Linux-based operating system which has been designed to perform the two tasks: data backup (with support for btrfs, ext2, ext3, ext4, FAT, HFS, HFS+, jfs, Minix, NTFS, ReiserFS, and XFS) and disk imaging (using Partimage, Partclone, and GNU ddrescue). The output files (archives and images) can be optionally compressed and sent to a remote FTP sever via Ethernet, WiFi, or dial-up. It is fully compatible with UNetbootin, which can be used to create an easy-to-use live USB.

Distributed Multiplatform Framework is a component-based programming framework using XML (or currently a hardcoded variant) as the repository. The samples are implemented either in console or wxWidgets. This shows the independence of the GUI or UI.

Release Notes: There was a bug in one XSLT template that caused import to fail for UML aggregates when there are more than one for a class with the aggregate on other classes. There is also an update page where the author puts notes. The patch file can be downloaded from that patch page.

GNU ddrescue is a data recovery tool. It copies data from one file or block device (hard disk, CD-ROM, etc.) to another, trying to rescue the good parts first in case of read errors. GNU ddrescuelog is a tool that manipulates ddrescue logfiles, shows logfile contents, converts logfiles to/from other formats, compares logfiles, tests rescue status, and can delete a logfile if the rescue is done.
