haveged is a daemon that feeds the /dev/random pool on Linux using an adaptation of the HArdware Volatile Entropy Gathering and Expansion algorithm invented at IRISA. The implementation attempts to be self-tuning on a wide variety of hardware and includes runtime validation testing. The tarball uses the GNU build mechanism and includes a devel sub-package, self test targets, init system options, and spec file samples for building an RPM. haveged may be used independently of the /dev/random interface through the filesystem at the command line. haveged functionality may be incorporated directly into other components directly through the devel sub-package.

Release Notes: This release fixes parallel build issues and modifies the check target to accommodate changes in the automake 1.13 test harness. It updates the sample spec file and adds other documentation changes.

Download No website 13 Feb 22:41 odb 2.2.0

ODB is a compiler-based object-relational mapping (ORM) system for C++. It allows you to persist C++ objects to a relational database without having to deal with tables, columns, or SQL and without manually writing any mapping code. The C++ code that performs the conversion between persistent classes and their database representation is automatically generated by the ODB compiler. The ODB compiler is a real C++ compiler except that instead of producing assembly or machine code, it generates portable C++, which can in turn be compiled by any C++ compiler. ODB is not a framework. It does not dictate how you should write your application. Rather, it is designed to fit into your style and architecture by only handling C++ object persistence and not interfering with any other functionality.

Release Notes: Major new features in this release include multi-database support, prepared queries, change-tracking containers, custom sessions, and automatic mapping for char[N]. This version also adds support for Qt5 in addition to Qt4, and comes with a guide on using ODB with mobile/embedded systems.

Download Website 13 Feb 22:41 Zero Install Injector 1.15

Zero Install is a decentralized cross-distribution software installation system. It allows software developers to publish programs directly from their own Web sites, while supporting features familiar from centralized distribution repositories such as shared libraries, automatic updates, and digital signatures. It is intended to complement, rather than replace, the operating system's package management. 0install packages never interfere with those provided by the distribution.

Release Notes: Requirements can now be restricted to a particular distribution, allowing e.g. MacPorts Python libraries to specify that they work only with MacPorts Python. Environment variables can be expanded into multiple arguments, which is useful for passing options. .NET Framework installations are now detected on Windows. The diagnostics displayed when no selection is possible have been further improved to show the restrictions that prevented the selection of each candidate.
