Wikitty is a key/value storage and search system. A Java object or a relational table is frozen when writing code or creating a database. To make them evolve, you have to go back into the code, write a migration process, etc. It is also hard to maintain coherent code when you want to develop the same application for similar needs with only small differences. Between the common code and the specific code, it can easily become a real burden. Wikitty tries to answer those problems, bringing a technical solution which is easy to put into place and to use.

Release Notes: This release adds a parse and a extContainsOne method to WikittyQueryMaker. It also adds a new query property wikittyFieldSearchDepth which allows following links between wikitty for searches. You can now set a File on a binary field. A bug causing an error in the findTreeNode client method when Node depth + depth asked > Integer.MAX_VALUE has been fixed.

Atop is an ASCII full-screen performance monitor that is capable of reporting the activity of all processes (even if processes have finished during the interval), daily logging of system and process activity for long-term analysis, highlighting overloaded system resources by using colors, etc. At regular intervals, it shows system-level activity related to the CPU, memory, swap, disks, and network layers, and for every active process it shows the CPU utilization, the memory growth, priority, username, state, and exit code.

Release Notes: This releases adds monitoring of resource consumption for individual threads, improves color handling for overloaded resources, adds selections for multiple system resources like disks and logical volumes, implements handling of arrow keys, applies limitations for process accounting, supports more resources like CPUs, and adds more per-process counters related to memory consumption.

Java GetOpt Generator is a tool that generates a command-line argument parser from an XML file. Both a "parser" and "config" class are generated, which allows your program to either be launched from the command-line or programmatically configured and executed from another Java application. GetOpt Generator is self-hosting, meaning that it uses itself to generate its command-line parser.

Release Notes: The project has moved to GitHub.

What's My Heart Rate allows you to measure your heart rate by just looking at your screen. It's easy and convenient, without the need to press your finger on your camera lens. Your heartbeat causes micro color changes on your face. What's My Heart Rate uses the front camera and a software algorithm to detect these micro changes, with beat-to-beat accuracy. The algorithm is based on the non-contact photoplethysmography concept.

Release Notes: This release adds a better GUI to the history list.

Download Website 25 Jul 17:41 Parrot and Chirp 3.5.2

Parrot and Chirp are user-level tools that make it easy to rapidly deploy wide area filesystems. Parrot is the client component: it transparently attaches to unmodified applications, and redirects their system calls to various remote servers. A variety of controls can be applied to modify the namespace and resources available to the application. Chirp is the server component: it allows an ordinary user to easily export and share storage across the wide area with a single command. A rich access control system allows users to mix and match multiple authentication types. Parrot and Chirp are most useful in the context of large scale distributed systems such as clusters, clouds, and grids where one may have limited permissions to install software.

Release Notes: This release fixes a bug which made Parrot mistakenly think it correctly wrote to memory using /proc/<pid>/mem.

Download Website 25 Jul 17:41 Makeflow 3.5.2

Makeflow is a workflow engine for executing large complex applications on clusters, clouds, and grids. It can be used to drive several different distributed computing systems, including Condor, SGE, and the included Work Queue system. It does not require a distributed filesystem, so you can use it to harness whatever collection of machines you have available. It is typically used for scaling up data-intensive scientific applications to hundreds or thousands of cores.

Release Notes: This release improves debugging messages in Work Queue, fixes a bug in Work Queue which caused the stdout buffer not to be reset at the beginning of every task, fixes a bug which made pool configurations with an absolute path result in a segfault, and adds support for workers using Torque.

Download Website 25 Jul 17:40 libcap-ng 0.7

The libcap-ng library is intended to make programming with POSIX capabilities much easier than the traditional libcap library. It includes utilities that can analyze all currently running applications to locate applications that may have too many privileges.

Release Notes: This release adds support for a new Linux kernel capability, closes potentially leaked file descriptors, fixes a potential segfault, and solves a problem which resulted in reduced capabilities in pscap to cause fewer processes to be reported on.
