Tor-ramdisk is a uClibc-based micro Linux distribution whose only purpose is to host a Tor server in an environment that maximizes security and privacy. Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. Security is enhanced in tor-ramdisk by employing a monolithically compiled GRSEC/PAX patched kernel and hardened system tools. Privacy is enhanced by turning off logging at all levels so that even the Tor operator only has access to minimal information. Finally, since everything runs in ephemeral memory, no information survives a reboot, except for the Tor configuration file and the private RSA key, which may be exported and imported by FTP or SSH.

Release Notes: This release incorporates an important security fix from upstream and an upgrade is recommended. Tor was updated to, libevent to 2.0.16, and the kernel to plus Gentoo's hardened-patches-2.6.32-83.extras.

Download No website 26 Dec 14:18 Loadbars 0.3.0

Loadbars is a small script that can be used to observe CPU loads of several remote servers at once in real time. It connects with SSH (using SSH public/private key auth) to several servers at once and vizualizes all server CPUs and memory statistics right next each other (either summarized or each core separately). Loadbars is not a tool for collecting CPU loads and drawing graphs for later analysis. However, since such tools require a significant amount of time before producing results, Loadbars lets you observe the current state immediately. Loadbars does not remember or record any load information. It just shows the current CPU usages like top or vmstat does.

Release Notes: Peak CPU load is not displayed by default anymore (use the "p" command or the --togglepeak 1 startup option). Peak CPU load is now also displayed in text format (marked as pk). The new option --cluster brings rudimentary ClusterSSH configuration file support (e.g., "./loadbars --cluster server" reads the cluster server from the /etc/clusters file).
