gauger is a lightweight performance recording and monitoring tool, aimed at detecting regressions (or sudden impovements) in any measurable metric. It is mainly intended for software development, but can be used for other purposes such as network monitoring or meteorological logging. It collects measurments made by a number of clients (potentially behind firewalls) on a central server and allows you to visualize and analyze the data later. It offers a central log server, Python, Java, and C interfaces for the clients, and a Web interface to browse the data. It allows you to view graphs of the data per host or per metric, selecting the desired ranges and sizes, and allows you to download the data in a gnuplot script for further processing.

Release Notes: This is the first stable release. It is not backwards-compatible with older releases at the protocol level. The server part is completely rewritten in PHP, and now uses RESTful methods to accept data. New bindings include JavaScript and Python. Many new additional VCS are supported: git, mercurial, bazaar, etc. Merging of metrics in one plot, sensitive to units with color-coded help, has been added. The ability to remove/add plotted metrics with a single tick. A login/registration page to add new hosts. The installation script now offers an interactive way to install both server and client.

Download Website 03 Jun 22:31 sysstat 10.0.1

The sysstat package contains the sar, sadf, iostat, nfsiostat, cifsiostat, mpstat, and pidstat commands for Linux. The sar command collects and reports system activity information. The statistics reported by sar concern I/O transfer rates, paging activity, process-related activites, interrupts, network activity, memory and swap space utilization, CPU utilization, kernel activities, and TTY statistics, among others. The sadf command may be used to display data collected by sar in various formats. The iostat command reports CPU statistics and I/O statistics for tty devices and disks. The pidstat command reports statistics for Linux processes. The mpstat command reports global and per-processor statistics. The nfsiostat command reports I/O statistics for network filesystems. The cifsiostat command reports I/O statistics for CIFS filesystems.

Release Notes: A new option has been added to sar: it can now take a snapshot of all the USB devices currently plugged into the system. The option -h has been added to iostat to make the device utilization report easier to read with long device names. A bug has been fixed with cifsiostat that didn't count open files from the "Posix Open" column in the /proc/fs/cifs/Stats file. NLS has been updated: an Esperanto translation has been added.

Vaadin is a Web application framework for Rich Internet Applications (RIA). In contrast to Javascript libraries and browser-plugin based solutions it features a server-side architecture, which means that the majority of the logic runs on the servers. AJAX technology is used on the browser side to ensure a rich and interactive user experience. Vaadin is a big collection of UI components. There are server-side components like Button, Table, and Tree that you use to compose the application user interface. The components use events, listeners, and data binding to communicate with each other and the business logic. Vaadin is a robust architecture for rapid application development. The component-based architecture together with the data binding features help you to build applications that are easily modularized and refactored as needed.

Release Notes: Fixes a number of bugs from the 6.6.0 release.

Download Website 03 Jun 21:39 masqmail 0.3.2

Masqmail is an MTA (mail transport agent) for notebooks, workstations, home servers, and generally any host with no permanent network connection. It has special support for multiple transfer routes (e.g. to different mail providers). Address rewriting can be done in several ways. It is a slim replacement for full-blown MTAs such as sendmail, exim, qmail, or postfix and for the intended uses, configuration is much simpler.

Release Notes: This release fixes a problem with folded header lines (see 0.2.29). Besides the fix, the configuration is now more simple and, at the same time, more flexible (address restriction rules, online query, route protocol).

No download Website 03 Jun 06:08 Fotoxx 11.06

Fotoxx navigates an image collection using a thumbnail browser to choose images to view or edit. Edit functions include brightness, contrast, color, gamma, white balance, tone mapping, red eyes, sharpen, blur, noise suppression, smart erase, trim (crop), resize, rotate, add text, bend/warp, many art effects, HDR, HDF, stack, and panorama. Edit functions use movable curves and sliders. Feedback is live using the whole image. RAW files can be edited and saved with deep color. Areas or objects can be selected using freehand draw, follow edge, and tone matching. Selections can be edited in place with adjustable blending. They can also be cut and pasted into other images. Any metadata can be edited, reported, and searched (filenames, tags, dates, geotags, comments, captions, ratings, etc.). Collections (arbitrary subsets) can be defined and viewed. Batch functions are available for rename, resize/export, RAW conversion, and more.

Release Notes: Smart Erase and Remove Dust are slightly more effective. Retouch brightness/contrast/color and tone mapping are 25-40% faster. Retouch by "painting" with the mouse (dodge and burn) is much more responsive. If at startup the previous image file is no longer present then a gallery of recent files is shown. The toolbar can be set to show text, icons, or both. Translations can be edited interactively as Fotoxx is being used, and the changes are immediately effective. Several other minor interface improvements were made and one minor bug was fixed.
