The Drizzle project is building a database optimized for Cloud and Net applications. It is being designed for massive concurrency on modern multi-CPU/core architectures. The code is originally derived from MySQL.

Release Notes: The drizzleadmin utility has been removed. The same functionality can be achieved via cleaner, alternate methods (UDS and the console plugin + SSH). DATA_DICTIONARY tables' identifiers now use MAXIMUM_IDENTIFIER_LENGTH to match INFORMATION_SCHEMA behavior. Continued code refactoring. Various bugfixes. crypt_blowfish is an efficient implementation of a modern password hashing algorithm, based on the Blowfish block cipher, provided via the crypt(3) and a reentrant interface. It is compatible with bcrypt as used in OpenBSD. It is adaptable to future processor performance improvements, allowing you to arbitrarily increase the processing cost of checking a password while still maintaining compatibility with your older password hashes. The hashes it produces are several orders of magnitude stronger than traditional Unix DES-based or FreeBSD-style MD5-based hashes.

Release Notes: The 8-bit character handling vulnerability (CVE-2011-2483) has been fixed. 8-bit test vectors and a quick self-test on every use of the password hashing function have been added.

libstratanetsh (previously called "libnetshclient") is a POSIX/ANSI C library for use in the development of applications which require direct communication (using the "strata netsh" protocol) with a Foxmoxie Networks STRATA-family router (or any server-type-application that supports the protocol). This library employs both IPv4 and IPv6, as well as GnuTLS encryption, and may be used at either the client end or the server end.

Release Notes: This release adds a timeout system (netsh_set_timeout/netsh_timeout). A DNS resolver bug has been fixed. Managed-mode code has been simplified. The existing ABI is unchanged and protocol compatible with 2.3.2.

cdwrite is a console shell for reading, writing, and copying audio CDs as well as for creating and writing ISO images on CD media and data or ISO images on DVD media. It can also encode WAV files or audio CDs to FLAC, MP3, or Ogg files, optionally using CDDB data and setting audio tags. Users that prefer command line interfaces can use cdwr.*, cdencode, and settags scripts instead of cdwrite.

Release Notes: This release introduces new features such as writing CD text on audio CDs using CDDB data, encoding WAV files or audio CDs to Ogg files, and remembering changed settings for speed, ripper, encoder, bitrates, and qualities, as well as help entries added to the main menu and its four submenus. The configuration file includes new options such as: settings for the default ripper and encoder or settings for default LAME and oggenc bitrates and qualities. The shell was tested in Slackware Linux 13.1 and in Linux Mint 10 Julia.

jpecrga is a jQuery plug-in that helps Web sites use Google Analytics while complying with the amendment to the Privacy and Electronic Communications Act (PECR) that came into force in the UK on the 26th May 2011. It provides an unobtrusive method of gaining user consent before using Google Analytics, which requires cookies. The code requests consent from the user. If the user gives consent, then the plug-in will inject the Google Analytics code into the page. If consent is not explicitly given, no code is injected. The user also has the option to store these preferences permanently. This plug-in is designed to satisfy the EPD / PECR / cookie law regulations only for Google Analytics.


Release Notes: A bug was located where if a user selected no to GA, and then yes to store the preference permanently, the cookies were mis-set. This has been resolved.

Release Notes: This is mostly a performance enhancement release. Command execution time has been considerably reduced, and the output gathering algorithm has been improved. This release fixes also several minor issues.

Shed Skin is an experimental (restricted-)Python-to-C++ compiler. It accepts pure but implicitly statically typed Python programs and generates optimized C++ code. The result can be further compiled to stand-alone programs or extension modules. For a set of 63 non-trivial test programs, at more than 16,000 lines in total (sloccount), measurements show a typical speedup of 2-200 times over CPython. Not all Python features are supported, and only a subset of about 25 library modules, such as re and random.

Release Notes: Support was added for the "struct" and "array" modules. Three new examples were added, for a total of 57. The C64 example was updated, and is now more than 3,000 lines (sloccount). An option was added to display exception tracebacks (shedskin -x). Many bugs were fixed.
