Tiny Core Linux is a very small (10 MB) minimal Linux desktop. It is based on the Linux 3.0 kernel, Busybox, Tiny X, and Fltk. The core runs entirely in RAM and boots very quickly. The user has complete control over which applications and/or additional hardware to have supported, be it for a desktop, a nettop, an appliance, or server, selectable from the online repository.

Release Notes: The theme for this release is refactoring. With the Core Project, one starts with the kernel 3.0.3 2.4MB and the core.gz 5MB. Core.iso 8MB is simply the kernel + core.gz; this is the foundation for user created desktops. TinyCore is simply the kernel + core.gz + Xvesa.tcz + Xprogs +fltk-1.10.tcz + (user's choice of Window Manager) + wbar. The original TinyCore becomes simply an example of what the Core Project can produce: a 12MB FLTK desktop.

Dia is a program for creating diagrams of all kinds. The current version can do UML class diagrams, Entity-Relationship modeling, network diagrams, and much more. The engine is very flexible and dynamically loads diagram-types from disk. It stores diagrams in an XML format, but can read and write a number of different formats.

Release Notes: A lot of translations were updated. Several bugs have been fixed in this release. More colors have been added to SADT.

Clonezilla is a partition or disk cloning tool similar to Symantec Ghost. It saves and restores only blocks in use on the hard drive if the file system is supported. For unsupported file systems, dd is used instead. It has been used to clone a 5 GB system to 40 clients in about 10 minutes.

Release Notes: The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2011/Dec/27). The Linux kernel was updated to 3.1.6-1. Partclone was updated to 0.2.43. New progress for saving and restoring was implemented. Syslinux was updated to 4.0.5. The package pv ((Pipe Viewer) was added. An issue about the unknown slow execution after an image is restored 100% has been fixed. The error when halting or rebooting the live system has been fixed.

The plugin writes the information to stdout, and wminfo captures the output and displays it row by row. Kredentials is a KDE systray applet for keeping Kerberos and AFS authentication tokens current. Each hour it renews Kerberos tickets and (optionally) obtains new AFS tokens, and it notifies the user upon final ticket expiration.

Release Notes: The applet was ported to the KDE 4.x environment. A bug that caused problems when using Kredentials to obtain initial tickets (as opposed to renewing tickets that had previously been obtained using kinit or PAM) was fixed. A bit nore testing is required. The old 0.9.x branch will continue to support for KDE 3.x if there's sufficient demand, but it won't generally get a lot of attention.

Release Notes: This release focused on bugfixes and performance. In addition, enhancements were made to the class libraries. This is a recommended upgrade. Highlights include full support for interfaces, fixes for a bug in the String class related to the copying of byte buffers (this had cascading impacts), resolution of an outstanding issue involving inheritance and virtual methods, a sped-up dynamic binding process, support for cookies in the HttpClient class, and fixes for numerous bugs in the commandline debugger.

It supports advanced patch concepts such as file mode changes and copying/renaming files. Release Notes: This release fixes bugs related to generation of combined patch data. Combined patch data (still) does not track copies and renames, but the presented (simple) data should now be accurate.
